We have SO MANY brides that are so nervous before their appointment. So many questions come to mind “Will I look good in a wedding dress? Will I find something in my budget? What if I don’t fit in any gowns? What if I pick a dress and my friends don’t love it? What if I pick the wrong dress? What if what if what if…”
So let’s start with some of these questions and knock them out…
Will I look good in a wedding dress? YES! Everyone does! I’ve yet to see someone that I thought “man, maybe she shouldn’t wear a wedding dress”. That’s not a thing. Sure, not EVERY style will be your best fit but that’s ok…that’s with anything! So, YES. You will look AMAZING. You’ll find what you like and then we’ll stick to it and find your gown!
Will I find something in my budget? YES! There IS a perfect dress in your budget. My BEST advice to you though….is don’t try on a gown out of your budget. If you are eyeballing it and think “I really like that” and it’s not realistic (you are unable to go that much out of budget), do yourself a favor and don’t try it on. If it’s a little out of budget and you can make it happen if you love it, go for it. But if there’s no way, don’t even go there. There is typically a reason a gown is significantly more…the detail, the lace, the structure, it’s not necessarily about the designer. There’s a different feel to a couture gown.
What if I don’t fit in any gowns? We can typically modify to give you an idea on how you would look if the gown is too small or even too big. The majority of our samples are 12-14. We have as high as 22 and as low as 6. We can make it work! We want you to feel comfortable and we know which gowns are flattering on our girls. We aren’t going to try to squeeze you in a gown that won’t happen for you.
What if I pick a dress and my friends don’t love it? What if I pick the wrong dress? Do you and your friends ALWAYS agree on everything? Probably not…it probably takes a while for y’all to agree on where to eat for lunch. If your friends don’t love your gown like you do, they don’t have to wear it. 🙂 I always recommend taking pictures in the gown to see what it looks like not just in a mirror from your perspective. We always try to steer you in the right direction on what is flattering but what is most important is how YOU feel and how YOU look! You won’t pick the wrong dress. You’ll know when you don’t want to take it off.
So now onto what to expect in your appointment…
We send out an “interview” before your appointment. The more information you can fill out the better…then we’ll have a better idea of what you are looking for. Feel free to text us pictures of what you love, send us your pinterest boards, ask us questions, whatever! When you get to your appointment, we’ll already have a few gowns pulled in your budget based on what you’ve told us and our highly intelligent social media stalking we do. 😉 We’ll let you look through a few gowns and see if something speaks to you and we can pull that too! A bridal consultant will be in the dressing room with you helping you get in and out of the gowns and clipping them to fit your frame. Your friends/family that you bring will be outside the curtain not having to do a thing. We normally have a couple different types of water and some gourmet treats. Our appointments are set for 90 minutes and you will see our beautiful bridal suite get torn up in that 90 minutes as we are finding your gown. Our collection is the best of the best from each designer that we carry and highly sought after in the bridal industry. Luckily for us, LC didn’t have any couture shops so we got to pick whoever we wanted! The quality and detail of these gowns will amaze you and you will FEEL like a bride as you try on the most expensive gowns you will probably ever wear in your lifetime! As we are going through gowns, we’ll put back the ones you don’t love and keep the ones you are narrowing it down to. You can re-try them on back to back and compare. We can talk about colors the gown comes in, veils and accessorizing! And then when you say YES! We pop our confetti canon, hug, and cheer!!! It should be a fun day of celebration and trying on wedding dresses! This day is HUGE and we try to make it special!
If you say yes to your dress, we require a 60% deposit to be made prior to us ordering your gown. So whatever your budget is, calculate what 60% of that would be and then be prepared to say yes! The majority of our brides do on their first appointment!
We LOVE our brides and strive to take the very best care of them from their initial appointment up to their wedding day! We are so grateful for each of them that have chosen L Bridal Couture and are part of our L Bride fam! We hope you will join too!
